Crimson Spell Prince Valdrigue

Prince Valdrigue is a character in Yamane Ayano’s Crimson Spell yaoi manga. He is the prince of a country called Alsveith Kingdom. One day, his country is attacked by demons. In order to protect his family and the people of his kingdom, he uses the kingdom’s cursed sword, Ygg Veilund to kill those demons. Unfortunately, this sword curses its user into a demon beast and that’s also what happens to Val.

Val loses his sanity and turns to be a demon every night. Val then decides to travel to search for a magician who can cast a spell to lift the curse called Halvir. Their first fated meeting ends up with Halvir devouring the demon beast inside Val without Val knows nothing about it. After that, they start to travel together to find a way to lift the curse and their relationship grows stronger during the journey. 

Anyway, as expected from Yamane Ayano, her manga is always exceptionally beautiful and perfect. The way the characters are drawn and the way the story is written are just awesome. I have always felt challenged to draw beautiful male characters and this time I tried to make a sketch of Val. It’s not really good though but at least he’s still recognizable (from his face tattoo I think). I will try to draw Valdrigue again later at least half or full body because in this sketch I only did his head.  Ha Ha.
